Story writing help: Why would cupcakes be out to get you?

Radioactive matter dripped into the icing/frosting and mutated the cupcakes into sentient beings...and they're eeeeeeeeeeeeeevillllllllllllllllllllll

All good cupcakes belong to a secret society. There are rules and rituals that have to be followed to the letter. One day a baker falls asleep in the broom closet, and overhears some cupcake secret conversation. He gets away, but the cupcakes realize their centuries-old secrets are being compromised. "Attack of the Cupcake People"

Maybe a cupcake choked a family member accidentally, and the relative becomes a baker to begin poisoning the family of the baker who made the cupcake that started the whole mess! Then when they find it amusing to destroy that whole family, they keep going to other families. Just sayin'

Well, the obvious one is the baker only made them so they could die (be eaten)

Maybe there's one cupcake family that had a son who got thrown out because he was overcooked. They want revenge, so the father goes on a long quest for rat poison and mixes it with his own frosting, then sets himself to be eaten by the baker, obviously sacrificing himself in the process.

the batch of cupcakes were left in the oven 10 mins too long and are all hard and crunchy ontop, instead of lovely golden and light. They detest the baker and in their anger sprout arms adn legs. the choc chips on top for decoration turn intp eyes, ears mouth nad nose, nad their sprinkles are hair. They form an army with day old bread and left over pizza dough. which in turn become animated. they arm themselves with pizza cutters, spatulers, and bread knives. reeking havock on the baker and all the customers.

The cupcakes were hardened by overcooking meaning they went from being soft, fluffy personalities to hardened souls like humans can.
