Story writing help: Why would cupcakes be out to get you?

For eating their family (other cupcakes)

Oh, also, instead of milk, someone used poison. So they became villain cupcakes.

Or because they saw you eating normal cake. "What does cake have that we don't?"

Well you DO eat cupcakes. So if there was a baker who was super possessive of his/her cupcakes that would be a reason wouldn't it?

cupcakes=sugar

bakers=run from cupcakes

Because you ate their friends!!!

Because you prefer some other sweet to cupcakes.

Because you didn't put any sprinkles on top of THEIR icing.
