(UK) Equality for women - opinions?

Why do some women seem to want equality, but only when it suits them? Call me a sexist pig, but if you want the "same pay for the same job" (I have no problem with this!), then what gives you the right to complain when you're asked to work until the same age? Since forever, women have retired at a younger age than men in the UK, and so far all attempts at having them match ages has been met with shock and protest!

Same with sports - women's tennis lasts 3 sets rather than 5, but they want the same prize money? Sorry ladies, but equality is all or nothing, you can't play the "but I'm a girl" card when you feel like it, then protest "women are just as good as men" the other half!

Basically, I'm looking for a female point of view on this....

I could not agree more. Equality should mean equality in everything, even if it's not benefiting you. Some people are just jumping on the band wagon because of their own selfish desires, and not because they actually want it to be equal.

Gender equality is a one way street as long as it's going to aid women and not men, it's not only the pensions debacle that smacks of rank hypocrisy but this highlights feminist double standards as much as anything does. "Oh take pity I'm only a woman and can't work as long as a man" total bs

Is this in the news in the UK now? I just looked at BBC.com for another post, and it wasn't mentioned on the pages I read.

I think Sweden has had this for some time, but I don't quite know why the governments decided that. It seems odd. What's the political motivation behind it?

  • I know what you mean bro!

These feminist are afraid of actually being treated equal because they know that they will have to lose some benefits to do so!

People can say what they want, because if the shoe was on the other foot feminist would have no problem!

    Right on brother!

They may admit their inferiorities for this. Men are generally physically stronger so they can do more. However then shouldn't they be rewarded more for more work?

    I agree in a way.

    I agree.

Source(s): They should at least say women are not as physically able as men. Men and women both have their strong and weak points.

Now do you see why feminism doesn't match it's definition?
