How can I make a Magneto helmet?

I want to make one without using the cheesy bucket method or by modifying an already expensive Boba Fett or Iron Man helmet; if I could buy a helmet, I'd buy a Magneto one.

I'm also not otherwise familiar with molding or anything like that, so if that's the only other way, please explain it to me like I'm five.
