Some people aren't the best at online navigation so they come here for help. And that's why we're here. To help each other.

The newest expansion, Generations, caused a lot of problems. Other people have issues because their computers can't run it well. Some prefer to ask on here and get a more helpful, friendly answer. The people in the Sims 3 forums are sometimes a bit obnoxious and chastise people for not searching first.

You have a point, but I have The Sims 3 as well and I don't have any problems with it at all
Working in Tech Support most of the issues I experience are user errors, so it may not be the Sims

Because the people on the forums are just rude. But I actually had a problem today, but I fixed it in like three minutes.

well maybe they think people here will have better answers.
A lot of problems have to do with the computer. My sims 3 used to crash on our dell computer, and we had to uninstall it because so many problems. I'm guessing because we had so much stuff on it,
But my brother has sims 3 on his little macbook, and it never freezes or anything.
