Why would Republican Eric Cantor today say "we are not opposed to revenues" ?

Update:

Thanks for all the answers.

The top source, brown950, and angela answers are quite good, I'm having a favorite liking at th moment toward the terribly short one i see though.

    revenues = taxes

    I have no idea what he thinks he meant by that

    Bc he was ordered to back off the anti tax [revenue] hysteria by the plutocrats bc they demand the War Budget remain vastly bloated to deprive social progs of funding, and to enable military contractors to continue to reap enormous profits.

    They are not opposed to all revenue, just revenue that comes from taxes on the wealthy, current or proposed. ∠°)

    Kind of an ambiguous quote to pull. Repubs. aren't opposed to revenues themselves, but how they are obtained.

    Him and bonehead boehner are RINOs who need to be replaced with genuine Conservatives in leadership positions. Let bonehead go caddie for the enemy (stinkbomba) when they are both out of office.

    It takes a Repub. longer to realize truths. They are not to swift in the brain.
