Why does Gary Bettman get boo'ed everywhere he goes?

I think a lot of people feel it would be more appropriate for the keepers of the Cup to present it, rather than the commissioner.

A lot of people don't like him because he's been doing a lot of expansion in the south where hardly anyone actually follows hockey and none in the north. He's very disliked in Canada because people think he's trying to take away all of our teams (Winnipeg, Quebec). However, he also helped out Edmonton and Calgary a few years ago, and he allowed the Thrashers to move to Winnipeg to give them a team again, so that's not really the case.

for many followers who remember a time till now Bettman it is this: He keeps fidgeting with the recreation and changing issues to attempt and attraction to new followers. changing the names of the conferences and the divisions from historic names to geographic names disillusioned an excellent form of longtime followers.

People incorrectly blame him for things that he has no real control over because they have no understanding of how the NHL functions (in legal terms) as an organisation.

Because Canadians don`t like him.

People are idiots. Bettman is a good commissioner but people have no clue.

He is the Commissioner of the league and people don't like the direction they think he has taken it in. That he does the bidding of the owners and they are happy with him is beside teh point.

He only gets booed in some places like philly where they boo everybody and vancouver where they think he cheated them out of a cup win.

When anaheim won the cup a couple years ago, he actually got a big cheer so he doesn't get booed everywhere.

Cuz he sucks, Canada hates him
