Can you change your babies sleep schedule? Is it OK to do so?
My baby boy will be 3 months old on July 2nd.
As of now he goes to bed around 10 or 1030, wakes up at 4am and 7am to eat - but goes straight back to sleep afterwards and sleeps in until about 10 or 11 in the morning.
I want to try to change his schedule to get him to bed earlier at night. Even if I can get him to bed around 8 or so , and then have him up at 7 or 8 in the morning.
However I have tried getting him up earlier in the mornings but he just falls right to sleep - even if I try to play with him and entertain him - the second I set him down for a few minutes in his swing or vibrating chair etc - he will fall asleep.
Same as in the evenings if I try to get him to sleep earlier it just does NOT happen. I will give him a bath, get him in his pjs, feed him and cuddle quietly with him but he is just wide awake lol.
I'm just wondering if there is any way I can start to change his sleep schedule so that hes in bed a little bit earlier. Or if I should just leave it the way it is now and wait until he is a bit older before I worry about getting his bed time schedule changed.
Any tips or advice?

He should be sleeping 6-10 hours at night, and have 3-4 2 hour naps during the day.
At 4 months it goes to 8-10 hours at night and 3 two hour naps during the day.
At 6 months it is 10-12 hours at night, and 2 two hour naps during the day.
It is usually easiest to start with a wake time, and move the bedtime to earlier.
For instance at 3 months go to bed from 2am to 8am, then midnight to 8am, then at 4 months 10pm to 8am, then at 6 months 8pm to 8am.
The reason is because they wake when the sun hits them, but the sun is down at both 8pm and 2am, so moving the bedtime up more and more is not affected by light.
Usually you adjust the night time sleep slowly, just 15m increments.

Get the newborn to mattress previously!! maximum youngsters opt to pass to mattress round 7. i understand you probable imagine that in case you position him down previously, he will awaken previously. it truly is not any longer authentic!! a newborn that is nicely rested will sleep longer than one which is sleep deprived. also, he could be slumbering about two times an afternoon, once starting up around the hours of 9-12, and yet another one starting up round 12-2. placed him down for a snooze, and if he cries, enable him cry for an hour, and then pass into him. i understand crying it out is large not basic on occasion, yet in simple terms imagine that you're training him to self soothe. If he performs for an hour, it truly is okay, attempt back the subsequent day. it would want to take a at the same time as, yet by using giving him time on my own, he will study that that is not any longer play time, that is time to relax. Then placed him down previously for mattress. he will probable awaken for solid round 7 or 8. in case you quite elect to get him on an excellent cycle at evening, at the same time as he wakes up enable him cry it out. After 3 days of doing this, he will be slumbering a lot more suitable! some human beings have an quite not basic time letting their youngsters cry it out, yet at 11 months, he could be in simple terms wonderful. One e book that would want to describe this in a lot extra element is "healthful Sleep habit, chuffed newborn" by using Dr. Marc Weissbluth, a ped focusing on sleep complications.

Right now is not a good time to change his sleep habit. He needs all the rest he can get....It is my opinion that when he turns 4 months then try, right now he is tired from having to travel through the birth canal.
