Lord's Cricket Grounds ---what's the thing?

In John Galsworthy's "The Forsyte Saga", he has a huge scene in 1920, at Lord's Cricket grounds (I'm probably writing it wrong), and it's over prep school ("high school"?) matches. Guys wear hats and ribbons to match their schools and it's a big feast during the break. Does this still happen today? Is it only for the upper classes or rich?

I've not read the book in question, but it sounds like the Eton v Harrow match which was played annually at Lords, and was a great social occasion (think Royal Ascot, Henley etc).

Although the match is still played today, it hasn't been at Lords for many years.

Edit: I stand corrected - it IS still played at Lords, though its social importance has declined markedly. In the nineteenth century (and early twentieth) some other schools played fixtures at Lords also, though E v H was always the sine qua non.
