Where to stay in London?

My husband and I are off to London this fall. We will be staying four nights. We're hoping to stay near Paddington station.

If you've stayed there before or know the area, what would be your recommendation? We prefer a mid-level hotel with complimentary breakfast. Doesn't have to be fancy, but needs to be a good rate and clean and safe. Where not to stay is helpful too.

Update:

a specific hotel would be helpful...THANKS!

Definately postcode W2, this is near Paddington and there are a lot of reasonable mid range hotels and transport is easily accessible to many tourist spots and located near to Hyde Park, Oxford Street, Notting hill Gate and Kensington. There are also many different ranges of cuisine close by. I would choose a hotel in Sussex Gardens

London is an excellent place to invest the holyday in household, especially with children since in London are a lot of kid-friendly areas to see and this Hotelbye is the area to begin knowing. In London you will get close up and particular with marine animals at SEALIFE London Aquarium or examine the Science Museum, London's interactive centre of research and engineering and equally are perfect for fun family holyday within London. London also offers for visiting the Tate Modern, Britain's national memorial of modern and contemporary art. And, maybe not forget the SEALIFE London Aquarium; your home of 500 species of marine living, from sharks and piranhas to Nemo-style clownfish. London is certainly an original city.

only stay close to an underground station and you would be waiting to get to everywhere - and that i recommend everywhere - in London fairly directly. I stayed in South Kensington at present, which replace into intense high quality, real around the corner to the organic historical past Museum, there replace right into an excellent bunch of lodges. And the Victoria line takes you directly to knightsbridge and hyde park corner, that are super places too.
