  • Traveling to the Big Island?

I am familiar with O'ahu, but this time we'll be going from O'ahu to Hawaii, so I'm looking for hotel recommendations.

Also, should we spend more time in Hilo area or Kona? And which airport is cheaper/easier to fly in and out of?

  • Where to stay in London?

My husband and I are off to London this fall. We will be staying four nights. We're hoping to stay near Paddington station.

If you've stayed there before or know the area, what would be your recommendation? We prefer a mid-level hotel with complimentary breakfast. Doesn't have to be fancy, but needs to be a good rate and clean and safe. Where not to stay is helpful too.

  • Front Struts affecting fan functionality?

I just had the front struts replaced on my 2002 Honda Civic. Yesterday my AC/ cabin fan was working just fine. When I picked my car up and drove away I turned on the fan, and now it (the fan) makes a squeaking sound.

Normally I wouldn't make any connection, since the struts should have nothing to do with whether or not the fan works.

Is there a chance that something they did while replacing struts/ aligning the wheels that would now make the fan squeak?

  • Original Nintendo RPG? Can't remember name?

I played this RPG on the original Nintendo as a kid. I have a sketchy memory about it, and I can find similar looking games like Gauntlet, Final Fantasy and Dragon Master etc.

There were 4 or 5 characters to set up at the begginning. You choose which ones you want them to be( for example, you could have all wizards or all healers if you wanted). Then as you chose your characters, you could also set up each of their attributes with a number of points, so you could put so many points into health, or intelligence or something like that). There were differnt classes to choose from such as (not sure if these were the exact names): Wizard, Barbarian, Priest (Eunuch maybe?), Woodsman, etc.

When you were in a battle, you could see the foe and the characters on the screen. You could go to inns, spend the night to regain health, eat food for health etc. You traveled from village to village doing quests and could talk to people. The characters would follow each other in a line as you traveled from place to place.

I can't really remember any more details. I kind of remember the priest being in a blue robe as you set up his skills, and I think he was referred to as a Eunuch, maybe as a cleric. i just remember him being round looking with a cross on his tunic. The charters were all so similar to characters and classes in other RPG's so it's hard to remember distinguishable characteristic.

  • Suicide and Sacrifice?

I participated in this question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200905...

And was intrigued by some of the answers. Some people tried to justify suicide, which I think is cowardly and selfish -(although I can't judge all suicidal people's accountability)- by saying that if you were saving someone else, it made it OK.

In general I think people confuse suicide with sacrifice. If you are giving up your life...like a mother dying in child birth, a soldier fighting performing an act of bravery...to save another, it is sacrifice.

If you are killing yourself to rid yourself of pain, sadness or internal human anguish, it's not saving anyone, not even yourself(IMHO)- and that's suicide.

At times I think there is a fine line, and only God can judge what is in a person's heart when their life is taken, seemingly voluntarily. But generally speaking, suicide is wrong, sacrifice is right.

  • Holton French Horn H188 authenticity?

I just bought a "new" H188. It was a display model, and it seems really nice and authentic. But I bought it "open box" and was not able to verify that it was authentic. The lead pipe is marked Holton by LeBlanc, then the symbol, USA H188, but there are no other markings other than the serial number: 689486. It is definitely new and un-played. It also has a little round Holton symbol on the support bar that attaches the lead pipe to the horn.

Since it was a display model, there was no other paper work, and it did not have the original case (came with a very nice case though.)

Does anyone else have a Holton 188 that's similar? Or know a way I can verify authenticity?
