So I lied on my credit card application. I inflated my income cause I wanted credit which is so hard to get?

these days. Now they want proof of income? Should I come clean? Suggestions. I don't like lying but I was just desperate.

Update:

What about if the income I put is my projected income for the year and I can proove it. Do you think this will acceptable. To be honest, the income I put on it is how much I know I will make this year.

YOu're screwed anyway. Tell them you misread the question, send them the truth and assume you'll be without credit for a while longer.

Projections are crap. CC companies deal in reality. YOU could get hit by a lightning bolt and make nothing next year.

If you want to use that number, get it in writing and in the bank and apply again next year.

The only way they will count "projected income" is you actually have a paycheck stub for the amount divided by 52. If the money is from overtime or a part time job, they probably won't accept the paystub either.

Just cancel the application. I know plenty of people who doubled their income to get a high limit, then IRS stepped in and they had to pay the different. There's an old saying in the collection business, " if you're gonna be a thief, make sure you can retired from it".

Since you have already committed fraud on the application and been asked for proof just ignore the request and the application will be closed no harm no foul.

    Learn from this grasshopper.

    Additional details.

That changes everything as long as you can prove it. Send whatever proof like a copy of your employment contract or recent paycheck stubs and you should be fine.

    Good luck.

Your "projected income" will not be acceptable. What did you EXPECT to happen?

Well, that is technically FRAUD for which you could face charges, so yes, you should come clean and abandon your desperate search for credit.
