iPod repair? Part replacement?

I have a 4th gen iPod touch (64g) and had the charging cord ripped from the port. The iPod will not connect to the computer or charge and when looking at the port there is obvious damage. Apple says the iPod isn't under warranty (I was lucky enough to send it in and have them let me know after all the hassle) They said they would repair it for $200 but I am looking for a cheaper repair, or to possibly buy the part and replace it myself if possible. Any help?

The cheapest way to buy the parts is at Ebay.com or Overstock and possibly amazon. And you can find a tutorial on youtube somewhere if not it shouldn't be that hard to figure out because all you would have to do is remove the port properly and then put the new one back in its place hopefully you can fix. Good luck

Amazon and apple won't take accountability for you breakin their product. in the event that they did then on the tip of their guarantee, all human beings could wreck their ipod and ask for a clean one. There are some companies which will fix the video reveal for you if it bothers you that plenty. yet i think of they are overpriced
