Hard drive temperatures?
I have a software program that checks the temperature of my hard drive. It regularly goes over 60 degrees celsius and is now at 64. It has peaked before at 68 degrees, which is very hot. Is my hard drive operating at a safe temperature or should I seriously consider investing in a new fan or something similar to cool it down?

I would invest in a higher powered fan to cool it. That really isn't a normal temp. My 1.5 TB 7200 rpm drive is @ 34 C now, and my 1.5 TB green drive is @ 28 C

Most are rated as 60 degrees celcius maximum (some say 50c), which puts you over the "acceptable" range. Meaning, at some point you are going to start having your drive start failing.
Not sure if you have a desktop or a laptop, but assuming you have a desktop, you should look at adding another case fan or possibly a stronger fan, with higher RPM. Just know that will mean more noise.

Look into a "hard drive cooler" that will fit your make/model hard drive. Read reviews on Amazon, or similar to make sure you are getting a good one.
A stronger case fan, as you asked about, may help, but is likely to be extremely loud by comparison.

Naw nothing will happen unless it goes over 73c just dust you fan out regularly you should be fine. I would be more worried about the processor then the hard drive. Are you over clocking you computer? I so just switch back to default that that bring the temp down considerably. If not get rid of all that dust in the fan and maybe add a little thermal jell to the fan blades Arctic Silver 5 is best.
