Yes but sometimes you need to specify that you want them to straighten out the Steering wheel. Some times the mechanic wont pay attentintion and Just aline the wheels and give you your car back with the wheel the same way.

Yes and no. What has happened , NORMALLY, is that someone did some ball joint maintainance before for example and did not straighen the steering wheel. If she plans to keep the car for more than a year, go to Brake Check for the front end wheel alignment. In Texas, it is $100, more or less. I did the first one and had one 6 months later, and plan to get one done again next month, for 3 alignments in one year. It is like checking on your tire pressure all the time and keeping it at the exact tire pressure. Good for the mileage and tire wear. If you have any other problems, the mechanic will let you know so he can make for commission on you. Anyway, with the car parked, shake the wheels and see if they feel loose. If they do you have problems. Maybe the bearings going out. Also take it to at least 3 shops and get some opinions too. Now if everything was ok, then whoever did work on it just forgot to line the wheel up. Get the Haynes manual to show you how to do it. What you do is get the Haynes Repair Manual for your Year and model of vehicle at Auto Zone, or another automotive repair shop. The manual will show you what and how to do the repairs.

Have your alignment checked first.
It's possible that someone removed the steering wheel at some point and reinstalled it incorrectly.
If your car does need an alignment, that could fix the problem.

You say the car is driving straight ,your steering will need to be removed and refitted in the right place .
