Many people find this a tough question because the traditional answers like helping an old lady across the street, picking up something someone dropped, etc. are not things that we can do every day.

The biggest act of kindness I see is simply being polite, cheerful, and genuinely sincere to the people you encounter, especially people who are at work. When you go to the grocery store, smile and say hello to the cashier and bagger. Thank them for their service. Wish them a nice day. I have worked in a service position like this before, and polite customers are very rare these days. Your kindness in this small way will be appreciated, even if you don't see the results right away. You can apply this to almost anyone you meet.

    HI Kidd,

Some examples of acts of kindness one could do for another person are to pay an extra toll; let someone go ahead of you while you're standing in the check-out line; pay for or give away an extra meal; secretly buy pet food/pet toys; secretly buy baby food/baby toys; wash a car; leave a tip on behalf of someone else; give $ to a senior citizen who is short on cash; pay for a senior citizen's groceries; pay part of another person's gasoline bill while you're at the gas pumps; buy some umbrellas from the $1.00 store and give them (on rainy days) to people awaiting public transportation. Put a quarter in his/her parking meter if it's near or at the expiration point. When a RAK is performed, no one else (but God) should know about it. The Giver should never brag, etc. The Receiver can do or say as she/he pleases about the RAK.

Reflect God's love for you!!! If you are feeling the love of Christ come over you, share it with someone who is having a bad day. Give them a smile. If they are willing, give them a listening ear. There are so many different acts of kindness you can do.

For example, not to toot my own horn, I could see this guy was struggling financially. He was trying to figure out ways to make more money to feed his kids. You know how it is, you have more month at the end of your pay check. I mean he was literally taking on jobs at the cost of his health.

So I walked up to the counter and said to the cashier. "How much is that person's bill over there?" At first they were like, "That's none of your business." I said, "I intend to pay that person's bill to help him out, he sounds like he is really struggling financially." What do you want me to tell that person? (I should have said something along the lines of those who are shown mercy, give mercy) but I went all corny and said, "just because..."

Anything from a smile, a word of encouragement, a hot meal... Elderly people need a lot of help and patience. Things you take for granted like changing a light bulb, they have a hard time getting it done. Furnace filters changed. I mean all kinds of little things that take you two minutes may take them 45 minutes.

Anything. Be nice... Pick up random pieces of trash... if you find something hold on to it for that person until you see them again then give it back... Don't talk behind their backs... it does not matter how "great" or "LIFE CHANGING" and act really is. It is always taken to a level of extreme. Do the little things you can. You don't have to become a preacher, you don't have to sell everything you have, you don't have to fast or pray for six days a week. Do what you can just as long as it is done.

Do small things with great love for the person you are serving and in each face of the person you are helping see the face of our Lord Jesus. The thing I find most helpful is to touch people. I volunteer in a food pantry and a hug or a pat on the hand or back coupled with a smile and an ear to listen to them is sometimes more valuable than anything else they receive in that day. I also wish them to have a blessed day.

One of the greatest acts of kindness a christian can do is preach the good news of God's kingdom as Jesus did. It can change people in the most remarkable ways. Bible principles can help put bread on the table, enable stable relationships, give us true friends, create faithful and enduring marriages and foster love among neighbors. It can open the way to eternal life in perfect health on a paradise earth as God originally intended. It is the work Jesus did and we could do no greater kindness.

Cheering up someone can be an act of kindness. So can making them laugh.

Giving thought and action towards another person without regards to cost to yourself, in order to benefit them.
