Do I have acne scars, or something else?

I had the worst breakout of my life in March of this year. The entire bottom half of my face had lots of little pimples all over it. All the pimples are gone on my cheeks, but now in each pimple's place are small red dots. The dots aren't bumps, they're not dry, or oily, or anything, they don't feel any different from the rest of my skin. If I didn't have a mirror, I wouldn't even know they're there; they're like red pigmentation. The most frustrating part is, they still look exactly like pimples, so my skin still doesn't look clear even though it actually is. At first I thought they were acne scars, but I Googled "acne scars," and the results didn't look anything like what's on my face. I really would like to get rid of them once and for all, but since I have no idea what they are, I don't know what to do about them. Can someone please tell me what these miserable dots are and how to get rid of them?

I know what you're talking about. These "dots" you're describing are in fact acne scars. I have dots on my face, because I am dealing with taking care of acne. My dermatologist told me it takes one year for your skin to sort of "refresh" itself, as in lay down new skin and repair the old stuff. Try lemon juice and some sugar, that can actually help exfoliate the dead skin from your face and lighten them up. Just squeeze some lemon juice onto a cotton ball (or use a slice of lemon if you want) and put some sugar on it. Lemon is good because of the beta hydroxy acids which help remove the dead skin, and the alpha hydroxy acids go to work at hydrating the skin. The sugar acts as little beads to help remove the dead skin cells by buffing them off.. It leaves your skin feeling really soft, and when the juice gets in your mouth it tastes like lemonade. If you do try it though, don't buff too hard because then you'll leave your skin raw. Good luck!
