Have you made a similar phone faux pas?
I had been talking on the phone to a friend, about a question on children's TV programmes of old, and I told him I'd answered mentioning Bill & Ben the Flowerpot men - Flobbadob and Blobbadob. He had to answer the door, and said he'd ring back in a moment. As the phone rang, I answered with; 'Hello Flobbadob this is Blobbadob!' It was the Cardiac hospital receptionist with an appointment for me - a by now very confused receptionist!
I did feel a fool!
Anything like this happened to you please?

After listening to endless music "on hold" I just lost it and shouted a very rude tirade down the phone, not knowing I had been finally connected. Most embarrassing !!

WOW you are so old. I can tell from the way you type you must be atleast 60. No nothing like that but I once yelled "hello" into a phone because I thought there was something wrong with the microphone (there wasn't). Imagine being at the other end of that.
So what was world war 1 like?

Many times! It is so easy done, especially if you are waiting for someone to call back and you think it may be that person.
Caller display is great to try to avoid things like that, but even then it isn't foolproof!

Yes we have all done it!, its part of being a human,. Like after being in hospital and getting countless needles in my rump, I went to after care and they started to prepare a jab, so naturally I dropped my trousers, to be told, In the arm, Thomas!, talk about feeling a fool!...
