futuristic, would you rather be doctored through biologic genetic/dna/stem cell regeneration , or with bionic?

if given a choice, would you take a mechanical liver, kidney, lung, etc, or opt to regenerate the organ with your own stem cells?

Update:

hi Carol, growing some piece or part or whole 'something' would have a time-line much the same as a fetus developing once the process was started... even getting a joint replacement took nearly a year, and it it is steel. of some sort.

I could have regrown enough bone during that span .. a functional liver has been grown and it took only a few months.. skin is grown in a matter of weeks.. retnas grown in days.. intestin tisue in just weeks..

Update 2:

hi Questions... thanks for these sites! what a trip.. huh?!!? in my life i never thought such things would be possible, much less debatable or choices or options, did you?

Some stocks i trade now and then are stem cell company's , some are bio company's, some are pharmacy's and some are laboratory's, and i see them all on similar paths of science and medicines and treatments that are opening fields of research and study and explorations unheard of 15 - 20 years ago except in science fiction or star trek maybe..

I agree with you, tomorrow will be fused with new methodology, new science, new approaches to things like Cancers, or diabetes, or any number of other deceases we now poison patents with chemotherapy's that kill as often as heal.

bio and cellular and RNA, DNA, and a number of factors combined will revolutionize what we now think of as high science, replacing major industry's that no longer meet health or survival standards as results of what is about to antiquate moder

Update 3:

..by the way, Questions, that person in that youtube..?.. is a guy.. more so than not, i think...he has an adams apple,,

Howdy OLD DOG!!! Great Question. One star from me!!

I think in the near future, we will use both. I think a computer chip the size of a blood cell will be injected into our blood streams and it will release or tell the body to release the cells necessary to create cure. The computer implanted or injected into our blood stream will aide our own healing systems by magnifying our own brain power to predict illness and cure ourselves.

The computer chip won't exactly make us bionic but will likely be a gentle reminder that something needs regeneration and will stimulate whatever mechanism in our body that can do that. I think Genetics and bionic type computer technology will work in tandem and soon there will not be much distinction between the two.

I think this is what Kurzweil calls "Singularity".

I think I posted this youtube on another posting of mine but here it is again. It will lead you to other links from very great minds in technology and science.

My question would be: "How many people would be willing to allow a computer chip blood cell be implanted into our blood stream to mingle and adapt our DNA?" I would volunteer today even if it meant a shorter life due to a failed experiment. I truly believe this is a wonderful scientific advancement and is our next stage of human development.

I think it will be the most successful development in human evolution since people discovered fire. Sure fire burns houses down and is used in war but where would we be without harnessing the power of fire and electricity??? It is inevitable that we will advance with the good and bad implications alike but the good will definitely out weigh the bad.

Nearly an hour after posting this I found this youtube about "Transhumanism". I like what is said here inspite of the fact that you can't tell if the speaker is a male or a female. I don't think gender really matters here but it may be disconcerting to some people.

    OLD DOG!

I LOVE thinking about this and just watched this amazing video from Dr. Michio Kaku: Life in 2030. It is a university lecture. Too absolutely fabulous about the future of health and technology/genetics. Really something to think about.

That depends on how many years warranty you get with the bionic ones and whether they will be made in Japan or China. Seriously though it'd probably be wise not to mess around with the natural order unless there are exceptional circumstances.

He incredibly regenerated 10 circumstances, simply by fact the 8th surgeon regenerated for the period of the time conflict right into a hidden incarnation referred to as the Warrior surgeon (performed via the mythical John harm), then he regenerated into his ninth form (that's incredibly his tenth/ he did no longer call himself the surgeon on an identical time as scuffling with in the conflict). this means that David Tennant's portrayal of the surgeon is technically the eleventh, even although he's common simply by fact the tenth surgeon

bionic - unless i started a clone at birth for such emergence's I would die before one was ready lung / liver / what ever. it would be handy to have something on the self if needed. Not in the incubator growing.

Terminator II is a lot more awesome than accidentally turning into a zombie and being terminated by terminator II.
