Help! I am having financial problems and fighting with my husband?

Ok, I went back to school for a medical assisting degree. Need to get a certification to work. Graduating in August however, I have debts to pay at the school. Looking for a job everyday, online applications, newspaper, and friend's networking. What am I doing wrong? I am arguing a lot because I am depressed and so is my husband. Any advice?

Fact is it took money in order to earn the degree in which you needed to earn a descent living maintaining a career in the medical field. That's nothing you learn over night and i'm certain all this had been discussed with your husband before hand. Therefore he was very clearly aware of the cost. But it's neither of your fault as for the employment situation. You are applying and using great networking. You could ask your instructors and go to your school's employment assistance office. The military V.A hospitals and nursing homes are great places to apply also. Look up government jobs.org or .com check with comm.mental health, gov. assisted doctor's medical office those are in every community. Hospitals and nursing facilities long term and short term care. Explain to your husband that you are searching very hard for employment. In the mean time apply for retail sales, fast food service positions while continuing to search for jobs related to your certification. I went through the very same thing and while working full time in fast food service i got hired part time as an assistant and that turned into full time employment. I tried to keep the food service job through out my probationary period with the medical assisting job. so that i would still have a back up should things not work out. You keep the determination and positive mind frame things will work out. Let us know what happens in the job search.

    Good luck.

The best advice I can give you is to be patient, take a job doing something less than what you're trained for and making the best of a bad situation until your good job comes along. It's a crap economy as we all know and all you can do is face this situation head on. Good luck
