Trust me to choose to be the 4th answer. (*edit Oh I'm slow. lol)
It struck me as particularly revealing that the NOTW was able to gain the phone numbers of 7/7 victims. That is an inside job. It would take a policeman or another government official to get those numbers.
Murdoch has slung his weight around too much and I think it is about time that the people we elect show some backbone and stand up to the scrote. I hopefully made it clear to my MP that he should have a word in the ear of his cabinet colleagues about BSkyB. That deal should be halted until this is resolved. Further, it should not go ahead at all. Murdoch needs sent back to the colonies. And some people need jail time.

The police were taking money from the NOTW for information about investigations, how can they possibly be involved in the inquiry?
Murdoch has been a cancer in the political system since he engineered Thatchers election in 1979, he needs to be cut out, but you are right, politicians of all parties are scared that he will release the hounds on them if they question him to closely.

Cameron has said that a 'public enquiry is needed and you know how long they can take ... years! Cameron is also close to those responsible for what went on during those years, even employing them at the taxpayer's expense.
It is also significant that Murdoch backs the Tories and Cameron ensures that Murdoch makes a successful takeover for BskyB.

The name Edgar J HOOVER comes to my mind, no one would cross him either.
I put Murdoch in the same bracket as him for much the same reasons.
As much will be done about this as was done about MP's expenses, the whole
thing stinks but its just different **** same smell.

there is likewise the small be counted of Cameron breaking apart the BBC, which may be very effective to Murdoch. So remember, a vote for the Conservatives is a vote for Lord Ashcroft and Rupert Murdoch.

Is that why Cam is holding back from investigating until, as he insists, the police have finished their investigation, by which time, he hopes that the public will have forgotten all about it. Judging by the last "investigation", we can have no confidence in the police to investigate this matter.
