If you are a Christian and also a believer in the paranormal, explain to me how you connect the two things?

I have my own way and I am a strong believer in both my Christian Faith and in the Paranormal world.

It surprises me that some people struggle with mixing the two. I would appreciate your input.

Canonical Christianity and nowadays paranormal beliefs can't be mixed in certain way, but if we extrapolate both outside the canonical (ecclesiastic law) frame, we can find harmony between the basic elements which shape each one.

There are some debatable points inside the Bible which fit in the nowadays paranormal beliefs, such as the manifestation of demons and unknown human-like beings cited in many verses, demonic possession, among other points.

I'd go further, many researches, some of them well-known throughout the world, assert that certain unexplained events in the Bible, actually fit inside the "Exopolitics", which is a science that investigates the political implication of non-human life presence in our society, based in many points that I'd like to talk about in detail, unfortunately the subject is quite extensive, so I'll just mark out some of them:

-The Babylonian records, considered as probably the original version of the "Biblical Story of Creation", the records mention high-evolved beings that came to earth from "the sky" and lived with "daughters of men", they taught the humankind about astronomy, agriculture, and other sciences, they were called Nephilim (The fallen mighty ones) in Genesis 6:4.

-In some events, such as the destruction of "Sodom and Gomorrah" the angels are shown human-like, in some moments the citizens of Sodom wanted to have sex with these beings (which means they were tangible, human-like, and attractive).

    - The chariots of fire (Merkabah) in "Ezekiel 1:4-26", where some kind of flying vehicle is described showing similarities with high-technology.

-The demo-possessed of Gadarene (Mark 5:1-9), where Jesus found and healed a man possessed by a legion of demons, among many other points.

In my personal opinion, I believe that the possibility to connect this two things depends on how opened is your mind, because if you are narrow-minded you'll never find these connections, also, if you are really studied in this subjects is easy to realize certain points inside the Bible, that don't have simple explanations, in fact, some of them do not have explanations yet, opening polemic and debate between scholars.

The reason that people look down on the paranormal is because of it's satanic ties. Witchcraft, demons, and devil worship are all satanic. There is also the fact that the paranormal defies the rules of death. When u die you are always told u go to heaven or hell. There is no in-between. But with the paranormal there is an in-between. To me paranormal is spirits. Some good, some bad. I've heard stories of spirits coming and rescuing someone from death, or sitting and talking with a young child who has no other friends. But I've also heard of the hauntings and pain that comes too. I am a strong Christian, but I'm with u, I believe in the paranormal. An I think God put them here.

There are still mysteries for which we don't have a good explanation. To dismiss it all with a wave of the hand is NOT how we discover more about the world around us. I would point out that many things we now accept as normal were once in the realm of paranormal or science fiction. Jules Verne anyone?

And I don't have a problem mixing science and Christianity. I am a scientist and a Christian. Both have their place in my life. Indeed, life would be a whole lot emptier if I denied one or the other, don't you think?

In both the Old Testament and in the New there are references to an active spirit realm. If the Bible states that an active spirit realm, which in our culture would be considered paranormal, exists, then where is the problem?

Its all political to some people...I don't talk religion cuz it always turns into arguements.........so here is my imput.......My faith is whole heartedly with God......I don't know if anyone has done this, but i have struggled with my gift for a very long time.....I prayed one day, if it is Gods Will, I will be able to understand and use my gift for the good........meaning to help people........This is what I do, I help people...I do not just Ghost Hunt, I use that opp to study more on the after life....I do help find missing persons, and I do help people cope with the death of a friend, or loved one....Im not going into what the Bible says because that is where people tick me off..........it is a sin to PROFIT from your gift........I do not and will not ever accept money or gifts for what I do...........I do not tell people their future......That is not what my gift is intended for or anyones gift..that is my view on it......Since I had made that promise, I understand my gift 100%, I don't doubt myself no more and I don't let peoples remarks bring me down or make me stop....Most everything that comes to me gets validated......And God still walks with me, my angels still guide me.....so I fell I must be doing something right..........This is just my views and beliefs

The bible stated that spirits wont go to heaven until the second coming, until then they're stuck in a kind of limbo. I'm christian as well, and i believe that's where spirits and ghosts come from.

In John 10, Jesus is chatting with people who did no longer have faith in His Deity. in actuality, once you circulate decrease back and study the verses contained in the context (verses 24 and following), you will see that the Jews wanted a "sign", or evidence--even nevertheless Jesus had healed the eyes of the guy who have been blind for the reason that he replaced into born! The communicate replaced into lively--study it, please, contained in the early component of the financial ruin. to that end, Jesus is saying He and the father are One in terms of "substance". Athanasius could use this comparable word, "substance", whilst he defended the doctrine of Christ's deity against Arius. The unbelieving Jews understood of course what Jesus meant: they wanted to stone Him to dying! Now, in John 17, Jesus is praying to the father. he's already defined to the Apostles what the father and the Holy Spirit have been going to do after Calvary--which replaced into coming today. some days later, Jesus replaced into crucified and 3 days later, alive back! His prayer replaced into for the believers, certainly people who hadn't believed yet (study the context) who have been going to become His followers. enable me attempt to state this style of quickly: first, Jesus knew that by way of fact the disciples preached, others could have faith and be saved; 2d, He knew that there could be a time of separation yet sooner or later they could be united. finally, sooner or later, all believers could be alongside with the Lord at living house in Heaven. John 14 speaks of the time whilst Jesus could certainly carry the believers to be with Him. those are 2 distinctive subjects, one correct to 2 contributors of the Trinity, the different correct to believers who could sooner or later be with the Lord Himself! nonetheless, come, Lord Jesus!

I don't see the problem - gods are paranormal just like ghosts or anything else. There's no evidence for either, and it relies on faith only. Many religious people also believe in the paranormal, and many non-religious people do not.

Who am I to doubt that God created more life than what is found on earth?

And what kind of faith does a person have who doubts that God could've created evolution as part of his plan, for that matter....
