The revolution in Egypt was not successful,

the military have just been promoted above the President. The same people are in power, and the same policies adopted.

-it is now illegal to protest in Egypt.

As for Libya, that is a story that is invented, the protests were local and about local officials, the reason that the west is involved is nothing to do with humanitarian aid,

it is to do with the fact that Libya is not (yet) in the grip of the world bank and corporations, and has a lot of Chinese investment there, as simple as that.

Anybody who knew the recent history of Libya knows it is absurd to believe there is a popular uprising against Qaddafi.

Here is an informative report from an independent historian in Libya>

There is talk of a ground invasion of Libya in September, and that would be horrific.

Qaddafi has given out to civilians a couple of million assault rifles, and hundred of thousands of RPG launchers (not the sort of move of an unpopular dictator).

As for getting involved in Syria, it seems the main motivation is that the Russians are scheduled to turn the port of Tarsus into their only Mediterranean base in 2012.

It is intentionally being stirred up, and I think you are right to speculate about horrific escalations.

Not killing us as you may think . We hate Israel and we're proud ! And your government isn't cool with that it's your problem

The implementation of a democratic government is not a linear process.
