I haven't had my period in 7 months?
I'm 17 and I haven't had my period for at least 7 months. I know I'm not pregnant because I've never been sexually active. Is it bad not to get your period for this long? I don't think I'm underweight, I weigh 120 pounds and am 5 feet 6 inches. I haven't talked to anybody about it because I guess I'm kind of embarrassed. Will not getting a regular period affect my ability to get pregnant later on? What should I do?

You really need to go into a doctor. I noticed someone post about stress, that is possible but very unlikely. Your not underweight based on your height and weight. I believe that if you are on birth control it is possible that your period has stopped or lightened. It is also possible that your body thinks your pregnant when your not. At 17 your hormones are beginning to balance out. If you are nervous about going into a doctor you can call a nurse hotline first; usually you can find a number for the hotline on the back of your health insurance card. But, you really need to talk to someone about this.

Go see a doctor, if it keeps up it could cause damage. It's normal for your periods to be jacked up til your 20s, and stress and change of diet or weight can effect your periods. I suggest to see a doctor

i would just make an appointment with your local healthe department and have an exam done. it could be a number of things. Probably nothing serious but i wouldnt just let it go.

Many women who are stressed, may skip their period. Eating healthy is important also.
