What minivan is the next best after toyota sienna and honda odyssey?

Help we have 3 kids in car seats and might have more children in the future. I don't have much car buying experience since mine and my husbands first cars since before we were married are still running. We have been super lucky!

We are looking for a very durable long long lasting used minivan! Not sure if we want to spend the $$$ to get a toyota or honda. I have been trying to read up on the different years/ brands etc but it has me more confused than ever. I was reading that the next best thing would be a dodge caravan/grand caravan in the 2005-2007 range? Are there any brands that are clones( almost the same) to the toyota or honda brand minivans? Any helpful hints would be appreciated! Thanks!

The price you pay upfront for a vehicle is very misleading.

Sure an Odyssey is going to cost you more than a Grand Caravan, upfront, but look at the 5 year cost to own. You will pay less in 5 years for the Honda when you factor in maintenance, depreciation, insurance, etc.

Get the best - Get an Odyssey.

The Chrysler Town & Country (upscale version of Grand Caravan, but goes for about the same price) is considered the best after Sienna and Odyssey. And what I'd recommend is not buying a BRAND new one, but buying one that is lightly used--maybe a 2010 or 2011. If you visit local Chrysler dealers' websites, you will likely find a large number of program vehicles several months to 1 year old with very low miles (usually 25k or lower). The advantage to doing such is the PRICE! The price for a new 2011 Chrysler Town & Country LX at a dealer near me is $34,995. A 2010 Town & Country LX w/13,000miles is $18,990! What a difference!!! There are actually some advantages to the Town & Country over its foreign competitors--better fuel economy, and a more versatile, comfortable interior. You can find one in your area at http://www.autotrader.com/ Good luck!

actual, you could not pass incorrect with the two one, as the two a kind of two options of mini automobiles are very good. for my area i might choose for the Odyssey over the Sienna for one reason purely, and that's through fact interior the Sienna you have much less concepts in it while positioned next to the Odyssey. the two are priced at bearing directly to an identical.

In Consumer Reports testing and in their owner survey the Mazda MPV was the equal of the Toyota and the Honda in terms of reliability, especially the 2006 model. The Dodge/Chrysler have rather dismal reliability. I'd suggest you visit your local library and check the annual auto issue for details.

Why would you want a van that's the THIRD best?

Just get an older Honda or Toyota...they are the best. If you can't afford a 2009, then get a 2006...can't afford a 2006, then get a 2004. How hard was that?

    Consider a

    -Hyundai Entourage

    -Kia Sedona

    -Dodge (Grand) Caravan

    -Chrysler Town & Country

    -Plymouth Voyager

    -Ford Freestar

    -Ford Windstar

    -Pontiac Montana

    -Chevy Venture

    -Buick Terraza

These are all solid vans. Before buying, check out "carcomplaints.com" It can save you from buying a bad year van. Too bad i learned of this site after buying a 2008 Honda Accord
