When do Protestants think we get eternal life?

As Christians is it not our promise from God to have eternal life upon death? Why do so many of you say that those in heaven are dead? Heaven is for the living, not the dead, it is not a graveyard

they all say something different. That's the confusion of their Protest-ism. When their loved one dies they claim that there in a "better" place. They also say "there in heaven now". or if they are speaking in generalities they say we sleep in the ground until judgment day. They missed the scripture that tells us, After death---then comes judgment. There is NO reason for them to assume that judgment is some far off distant happening. According to the scripture it's quite simply put- after death (when we die) THEN--comes judgment. It does not say we AWAIT for judgment, as they infer their belief system into scripture so to make it say what they choose.

If then scripture is the truth and after our death_Then comes our judgment---so too would Then come heaven or hell. So those who die in the friendship of God and do NOT need further purification, those would go straight to heaven. Protestants do not forget the scripture that states "Nothing-defiled-shall enter into heaven". Purification before we enter is then necessary. But that's another question .

Jesus Explained That Eternal Life Is Gained Through The Spirit - Not Through The Flesh

Jesus' Flesh And Blood Are Of Divine Nature (Spirit) And Not Of This World (Flesh)

"It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life." John 6:64-68

I think everybody including catholics, protestants even Jews need to read the scriptures carefully. As per the Bible prophecies, the catholics and protestants will unite and there will be one universal church. But due to its compromising nature it will lead its members to hell. There is hope for those christians who follow the Bible and for those Jews who would follow God's message from the two prophets described in Revelation chapter 11.

THERE ARE STILL PEOPLE ON EARTH WHO ARE NEITHER CATHOLICS NOR PROTESTANTS BUT BELONG TO THE CHURCH FOUNDED BY JESUS ON CALVERY.

Lets read some scriptures about death and judgement:

1 Thess. 4:13-17 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Now if the dead in Christ are going to rise when Jesus comes to the earth, are they not dead whereever they are right now? As per the above scriptures, their spirits are with Christ. Christ will bring them with Him while coming and then they will be resurrected. So, their spirit are in heaven but their bodies are in grave on earth. They will get their bodies on the day of the resurrection.

Hope this clarifies the scriptures for both protestants and catholics.

Mark 12 information Jesus' coaching on the subject of the resurrection:  18 Then the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, got here to him with a question. 19 “instructor,” they stated, “Moses wrote for us that if a guy’s brother dies and leaves a spouse yet no toddlers, the guy ought to marry the widow and have toddlers for his brother. 20 Now there have been seven brothers. the 1st one married and died with out leaving any toddlers. 21 the 2nd married the widow, yet he additionally died, leaving no baby. It became into an identical with the 0.33. 22 in actuality, not one of the seven left any toddlers. final of all, the lady died too. 23 on the resurrection[c] whose spouse will she be, by way of fact the seven have been married to her?”  24 Jesus spoke back, “Are you no longer in blunders when you consider which you do no longer understand the Scriptures or the potential of God? 25 whilst the lifeless upward push, they are going to neither marry nor receive in marriage; they are going to be like the angels in heaven. 26 Now on the subject of the lifeless transforming into—have you ever no longer study in the e book of Moses, in the account of the bush, how God stated to him, ‘i'm the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’[d]? 27 he's no longer the God of the lifeless, yet of the living. you're badly wrong!” Mary and the saints are alive in heaven in perfected actual bodies, like Jesus' physique after his resurrection. be conscious this passage provides Jesus' answer on your question: some Protestants, like the Sadduceees, are in blunders by way of fact they do no longer understand the Scriptures or the potential of God. Cheers, Bruce

As such, "eternal life" does not refer to the immortality of the soul. In consideration of the fact that the soul is already immortal, "eternal life" refers to "the soul's knowledge of God on a personal basis." [C.C.C. # 366]

    John 6:53:54 Jesus says:

    “I tell you most solemnly,

if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man

    and drink his blood,

you will not have life in you.

Anyone who does eat my flesh and drink my blood

    has eternal life,

and I shall raise him up on the last day.”

Jesus' listeners knew exactly what he was saying, and for them to reject the Eucharist was a rejection of Christ. Jesus told them what their rejection of Him would bring to them.

Protestants today who reject the Eucharist honestly believe that they are following Christ's teachings, so when they reject the Eucharist, they are not consciously rejecting Christ. The penalty for them would therefore be less severe.

The Catechism says this affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:

Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.

1 John 5:13 answers that question. It happens when we have truly put our faith in Jesus Christ and what He accomplished on the cross by dying for all of our sin...past, present and future.Hope this helps.

Because bible fundies get to decide who's dead and who isn't, who is saved and who is damned. Jesus will be in for a great surprise to find out that the fundies usurped his job.

There's a misconception that when you die, you go to Heaven or Hell. The Bible teaches that when we die, we go to sleep until Judgment Day, then rise from the dead.

    It'd basically be a zombie-fest.
