Metal guitarist of the day: Christian Muenzner?
I recently got into Obscura, and was seriously impressed by his guitar work, but what really caught my attention was his new solo album "Timewarp." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMh25zmyb7U It blew my mind wide open, and I regard him as easily one of the best guitarists out right now. In my opinion, he's a much more interesting player than Muhammed Suicmez, who he previously worked with in Necrophagist. What are your thoughts on him?

BQ2 - Obscura or Necrophagist
@Travis did you seriously just compare him to Synster Gates, the most overrated hack guitarist around today? I shall disregard your opinion, my guess is you haven't even listened to Muenzner.

I like his guitar work a lot, even though I'm not a huge fan of shredding. His style reminds me a bit of a more extreme Marty Friedman, which is great. I agree that his playing is much more interesting than Suicmez as well (just never got into Necrophagist's approach to guitar).

BQ2: Necrophagist, Obscura just doesn't do much for me.

He's not bad what so ever but he does not have that unique sound like alot of great guitarists have like synester gates of Avenged Sevenfold or Alexi Laiho of Children of Bodom But he isnt bad just not the best
