I recently got into Obscura, and was seriously impressed by his guitar work, but what really caught my attention was his new solo album "Timewarp." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMh25zmyb7U It blew my mind wide open, and I regard him as easily one of the best guitarists out right now. In my opinion, he's a much more interesting player than Muhammed Suicmez, who he previously worked with in Necrophagist. What are your thoughts on him?

I'm merely asking this because I'm trying to get tickets to see Children of Bodom w/ Obscura in Philadelphia on the 17th, and my dad's being all gay about getting the tickets, so I might just have to purchase them at the door. Think they'll still be available by then?

I'm a junior in high school and will be applying to west Chester and temple in September. Just trying to evaluate where I stand. My cul gpa is around a 3.02 and I got a 1640 on my SATs. I also have a few extra curiculars mostly in music. Thoughts?

So basically, I'm a 16 year old aspiring melodeath frontman(vocalist/lead guitarist). Unfortunately, I've run across a predicament. I can play guitar really well, and I'm picking up multitasking singing and playing guitar, but the only problem is I can't quite scream how I want to. My main vocal inspiration is from Petri Lindroos (Norther, Ensiferum), and I can't produce the sound at all. Either my voice ends up going too high, or too low. Does anyone know what kinds of techniques are part of his style and how to produce similar results?

Holy Grail is a new metal band that is kind of like a modernized version of the NWOBHM. I was highly impressed with their first release, Crisis in Utopia and think they have the potential to become one of the better metal bands on the scene. Thoughts?

After the Bon Scott era, I think AC/DC has been one of the most generic and repetitive bands in rock. All their songs seem to sound the same, and I can't tell you how much I hate Brian Johnson's voice, there's no versatility whatsoever in his singing. Thoughts?

Due to me losing complete interest in sports and switching to sitting in my basement playing guitar all day, I have put on 30 pounds in the past year. My eating habits ain't been great either and I woke up one morning realizing I'm growing **** like Jabba the Hut. So I'm drinking lots of water now(2 cups per hour) and watching what I eat, even trying to get some exercise. So I guess what I'm asking is how much weight can I hope to lose say, per month if I continue to do what I'm doing. Some tips would be most welcome as well.

Does anyone else agree with me that this guy is overrated? He's a beast player don't get me wrong, but he seems SO repetitive, always doing the same pentatonic licks and pinch harmonics. I have a theory that playing in Ozzy's band gave his name more hype than he is worth. Thoughts?
