Which team has had the best offseason?
I think the Minnesota Wild have had a really good offseason. They drafted really well by selecting a shutdown Defenseman in Jonas Brodin and a high scoring forward in Zack Phillips. At the draft they also acquired Devin Setoguchi and an outstanding prospect in Charlie Coyle. Last but certainly not least, they acquired a dynamic scorer in Dany Heatley. The future of the wild looks pretty good
I have to add that the reason why I'm so high on Minnesota is that I'm from Minnesota.

I'm also from Minnesota. And I still think Minnesota also had a good offseason. I think acquiring Setoguchi was a good trade. But not sure about the Heatley trade. Last year, he only had like one more point than Havlat. And they're losing speed. But Heatley is a much better goal scorer. We should have kept Theodore though. LA and Buffalo also had a good offseason. LA acquired Mike Richards who was the captain on the flyers. And Buffalo acquired Erhoff,Regehr,Leino. And I think the Rangers made did good. They acquired Brad Richards who should help their young team and Gaborik. But probably aren't playoff contenders yet.Go Wild!

One thing you must realize is that everybody likes what they get in the draft. We can't judge who did well in the draft yet for obvious reasons so we might as well throw that out the window.
I would say chicago though. Minnesota is up there for sure because they moved a player they weren't going to be able to sign for a good prospect, a 1st round pick and a good, young scoring winger.
Chicago moved maybe the most overpaid d man in the league though in brian campbell and that contract would not have ended for 5 years. That was a huge 7 mil off the books for chicago. You can look at it and say they got the overpriced olesz back but they can buy him out at virtually no cap hit. They also traded troy brouwer for a 1st rounder (steal of a deal), resigned crawford to a great deal, and added some veteran depth.

Most improved has to be the Panthers. Granted their signings likely won't be enough for them to make the playoffs, the team is certainly better. Added bonus of their solid draft pick.
L.A. and Buffalo have made a few good trades and signings to put themselves in a position for a run in the playoffs past the first round.
Minnesota made good trades, and will certainly contend for a playoff seed.

Kings. The reason is they are the only team that went from playoff contender now they're a sure Stanley Cup contender. Adding Richatds and Gagne assures them of that with already greath depth.

Florida Panthers. They basically stole half of the Blackhawks Stanley Cup team. Dale Tallon sucks

Buffalo(2nd in East), Florida(11th in East), Minnesota(13th in West)

the western conference is brutal, and the wild have been non-contenders for over two years
even with a playoff-ready team, I doubt theyll just jump right back into the mix. no playoffs this year, low seed playoffs next year (maybe)

I think Ottawa had a good off season. they didn't sign too many guys but they got alot of good prospects for the future david runblad, nikita filatov, they drafted 3 solid first rounders. they have good prospects ready to come in jared cowen, robin lehner. plus they resigned craig anderson so they have a solid goalie to
