Is it really that strange that I don't really like putting on/wearing make up?

Question

I'm 16, and my parents think I'm some kind of freak because I don't like make-up. They're always complaining that I don't wear it and therefore do not care about how I look (I do care about how I look, though. I dress nicely and try to make my hair look good, if that's any indication).
 I like the way make-up looks, but that's all. I hate putting on make-up because it takes too long and I usually do a terrible job and end up looking worse than before. I also hate the way it feels on your face. You can't rub your eyes (if you're wearing eye make-up) and if its a hot day, the make-up starts to melt and feel sticky and gross. 
What do you think? Is it that strange that a 16-year-old girl does not want to wear and does not like make-up?

Nope, it's just a personal opinion/preference. If you don't like putting makeup on, you don't have to. There's nothing wrong with staying natural. Makeup is never a must, just an accesory.

BQ: I do. It helps me be more confident and I feel like it makes me look more put-together if I have a little bit of makeup. I also don't have very good skin, so it makes me look more even all over. I also have fun putting on, makeup interests me :)

I've never worn makeup. I think I look fine. I look a lot better since my face cleared up, and I don't want to clog my pores with crap.

I know girls who never wear makeup. One day one of them went to school without it, and she looked like she hadn't slept in days. She looked a lot better before she started wearing it.

thats how i was all the way up to 17! im sure you dont even need makeup, most teens dont. but i just like it because it enhances my features. i agree with makeup being a hassle though because it takes to long to do and then you have to worry about it smudging etc. thats why i only wear thin eyeliner and mascara. but moral of the story, im sure your a pretty girl without makeup! maybe one day you will decide you want to wear it, but no ones forcing you!

Nope I love chicks who don't wear make up.  It ruins their natural beauty.  The girl I love doesn't wear make up and she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen in my whole life

i dont wear make up a lot. i wear it sometimes but only for presentations and pictures but that is like a little eyeshadow and chapstick..

BQ: sometimes i enjoy it and sometimes i dont because its a waste of time putting it on. though sometimes i forget i have it on so i tend to smear it sometimes and go to sleep with it on...so bummer

naaahh, of course not!! my best friend  (who's my total opposite), doesn't wear any make up....ever. Not even for parties or pictures...and it's not strange at all. Sometimes i try to convince her to put on some, and she does...but she hates it for the same reasons you do. :D
