Why Cant We Pull Together?
Remember After 9/11 when the Country pulled together and put aside Ideological differences because in Tragedy, we were reminded that we are ALL Americans.
Now, the Country is facing, and has been facing a problem much larger and more profound than the events of that day, yet all that happens is bickering and outright hate.
I hear alot of talk on this site about how if we taxed the rich at 100%, it wouldnt erase this defecit. I dont know if thats true, but if it is, then it must also be true that we cannot cut spending enough to put a dent in it either.
Cant we as Americans, agree that to tackle the problem, its going to require a little bit of both?
We arent asking the rich for 100%. We are asking for 3.9%. Like they were paying 10 years ago.
Is that really so unreasonable?

Americans have become self centered now, and they dont agree with each other there always fight for what they want to be right rather then what is right.

When Asimov wrote about this sort of thing as fiction, he called it psychohistory. History is a system, and it has inputs and outputs. You can predict the outputs from the inputs.
BHO tried to govern from all the way at the right. He spent like nobody ever spent before. The reaction, of course, is that (like WJC) BHO lost the House, and things moved radically to the right there. Because BHO went farther left, the House went farther right. Same with the budget. WJC pushed a bit in one direction, and the House went the other direction. The big difference here is that WJC and GWB after him governed from the center, more or less, after that point, and we all got along fine. BHO, on the other hand, has taken quite a hard stance, and so has the Tea Party, in an equal and opposite reaction.
BHO has two options:
• Play for all the marbles, go over the edge, and get it his way
• Move to the center
I don't think that BHO can move to the center. That leaves him with all or nothing. I'm betting he's losing the marbles.

Americans are becoming too ideological. We all think OUR ideal way of life is best.
'You are either with me, or against me'
I don't live this way. I work with the public, I have to be friendly. I choose to smile at the most grumpy looking person I see. I will be friendly to anyone, even if you are rude to me...of course if you are rude I will laugh behind your back, and most likely tell my friends how rude you were...and how nice I was!
The other reason we are so different, we have a leader who is doing nothing but making a huge divide between the have and have nots. Class Warfare. Tax the rich...they have too much.
