Heat gun variable temperature help please?

on my dads heat gun i need to use it has two fan speeds an a variable temperature control. on the lable it says it will do 80 to 300°C and 80 to 600°C. is that the temperature for each fan speed? and if so which is which? Thanks a lot for any help :-)

    I would guess that the higher temperature will be the result of the lower fan speed, as at the higher velocity the air has less time to be heated when passing the element. However you will have no idea what the actual temperature is unless you have a pyrometer or similar instrument as the adjustment dial only indicates high/low.

    Without actually seeing the heat gun, I think your idea would be correct. The "high" setting would be the one with the higher temperature, ie. the 600 degree setting.
