do you think a pol must be required to have had a real job?

What do you all think of my idea: How about a requirement that before holding public office a politician must have had a real job or owned an actual business where he had to sell a product or service to meet a payroll? Here our new governor has never in his life held a nonpublic job and it shows. he simply has no concept of what it takes to be on the other side of the issue. He sees business as simply a till to pay off his supporters and his policies are causing businesses to actually lay off employees..

That would be a help. I also think we need term limits. No one should spend their entire working life in congress or in statehouses.

Sure, as long as I'm the one who gets to decide which jobs are "real".

Being an American citizen should also be a requirement.

Not really no. It would work better if people just didn't vote for people like that.
