Why do people on Y!A politics block each other so much?

I don't think blocking should be allowed in the Politics section. The result of blocking is to allow individuals to post propaganda statements and then block anyone who is likely to oppose their viewpoints. That results in a lot a mindless answers agreeing with the asker's propaganda.

The few conservatives here who don't block me may vehemently disagree with my answers but at least they have integrity and are honestly interested enough in the political issues to allow other opinions to be expressed.

I have blocked a couple of obvious trolls setting up conservative straw men for their liberal accounts to knock down, and a few masquerading as liberals for the same purpose.

Flame wars and cheating are rampant here, on both sides. I just ignore that and offer what knowledge and reason I have, and no I don't support conservatives, nor do I embrace liberals. Ideologs displease me in general because the ideology obscures their vision and reason and makes them treat facts the same way Procrustes treated overnight guests.

And while they argue (more like shout their slogans to convince themselves) the wolf is at the door.

But I don't block here because I have a brain. My email spam filter is my mind and the delete key, and it works well, and I apply the same principle here. When a pattern of obvious abuse emerges from questions and answers I may block, but someone like you I might ignore at times but never block.

I have never blocked anyone myself! But I have been blocked before by those that are "INTOLERANT" to the truth! The YA referees knows who they are! If I mention them by name, I lose 9 points!

EDIT UPDATE: I forgot to mention the fact that why I never block anyone is to the fact that I believe in free speech! I like for people to expose themselves no matter how dumb, or Intelligent they are!

EDIT AGAIN: I too have been accused of being "Paul Grass!" To my Accusers I say thanks for the compliment, but I am NOT him!

I too do not report anyone unless it is for slurs and/or threats! Even racial insult of any kind I will report you!

Paid Political activists have constantly had the skill to dam different purchasers. they only cope with a checklist attack and the consumer they disagree with is kicked off of YA. circulate team pink circulate

I am in the process of blocking every one I think is a Paul G sock account because I'm tired of getting my Q/A reported and having my account banned.

but I know all of your arguements.. I know what your response to any of my questions will be.. So It's no big loss on my part.

Some posters have nothing to contribute to a discussion or answers concerning politics. So blocking them is easier then having to sift through the crap.

The thing I disagree with you on is that only liberals block. I have seen a few conservatives block us.

I, like you, want to hear what the other side has to say. Even if what that person has to say is so far out in left field that I can't possibly take them seriously. But still I'd like to at least hear them out and then just agree to disagree.

Someone putting a block on you, does not stop you from being heard by that person.
