Could we make a compromise between Controlling Climate Change and Maintaining Economic Growth?

If it is possible consequently the argument between those who deny climate change and those who support economic growth could be settled .

Ahhh those who deny climate change are the SAME as those who support economic growth.

Well sort of - in theory everyone supposts economic growth - but the fines, taxes & regulations associated with controling CO2 are the factors operating counter to Economic growth.

CO2 is what you get when you make energy - hence control/taxation of CO2 raises the cost of energy & raising the cost of energy raises the cost of everything else.

Those skeptical of Man Made Climate Change believe it's a Socialist Tax Scam. So there isn't much space to compromise. If a someone trying to swindle you out of 2 Million dollars wanted to 'compromise' at a 1 Million dollar swindle - would that sound like a good idea to you?

Abra, You cite a false dichotomy.

There is no compromise to be made.

Controlling, tempering or even halting economic growth entirely will not alter the climate.

It is ignorant & arrogant in the extreme, to imagine that we can influence the climate.

Scientists cannt stop dreaming how they'd lime things to be, but only the deluded ones confuse their dreams with reality.

Of course there will always be people who tell you, give us your money & well make it all right. Governments, scientists, politicians & bankers.

Yes. Clean energy is a phenomenal growth opportunity, and we should embrace it. China is the major producer of solar panels. We're falling behind.

Clean energy business would be an economic boost, not a drain.

No ,you can't make a compromise when one half of the deal (controlling the weather) is impossible to achieve

Frank says: China is the major producer of solar panels.

Is that why they are opening one coal fired power station every week?
