how do I find out which cat is vomiting?

I've got 4 cats. One of them has taken to throwing up 3-4 times a week but I DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE  because it always happens when I'm not around. Sometimes I hear the "huey-huey" noise but by the time I get there, cat has gone and only mess remains. I can't treat or take to vet until I know who it is. Any ideas? I can't keep them all separate and anyway it happens some days and not others. Sometimes it's straight after food and sometimes in the middle of the night.

Okay this is a gross idea sorry but it might work.. You could smell there breathe and see.. Believe me you'll know after they have vomited..

are you sure its only one of them? i would try a different food. certain foods will upset cats stomachs more than others. try switching the brand see if it helps?

u can try jarred baby food dyed with food coloring (harmless) feed one cat red baby food, one cat blue baby food, one cat green baby food, and one cat just baby food, every night until the "culprit" is identified...

Keep them confined to seperate rooms until you find out.
