My mom got bitten by my 4 month old puppy and she's bleeding?

The puppy hasn't had her rabies shot yet and has been outside for walks around a few other dogs a few times, but has never been bitten by one; should my mom get a rabies shot?

No, unless the pup has been playing with wild animals, or dogs that have been hunting wild animals in the last 3 weeks, your mom is in no danger.

Clean the wound with soap and water. apply anti biotic cream and a bandage

at 4 months puppies are teething in a big way to make sure the puppy has things she has things she is allowed to chew other then hands

Your mom should call her doctor, but she likely doesn't need a rabies shot. If your puppy isn't sick or shows signs of being infected w/ rabies, then your mom likely has nothing to worry about. Your puppy should start her rabies immunizations soon... most rabies immunizations should begin at 6-8 weeks.

Well, you're not supposed to take a dog outside before it gets it's shots. But your mom shouldn't need a rabies shot unless the puppy has rabies, most of the time Dogs that infected with rabies will show signs and symptoms such as foaming at the mouth, extremely mean and aggressive.

No. Not unless you have reason to think your puppy has been bitten by a rabid animal (usually a wild animal), which I seriously doubt. Just tell mum to wash the area well, and put antiseptic cream on. It might be necessary for her to have a course of antibiotics, and perhaps see if her tetanus shot is up to date, but with your own puppy, I suggest this really isn't necessary. I've bled from puppy nips more times than I care to remember, and I'm still around LOL

Is is she acting strange? Look up rabies side affects and see if her behavior is like what it describes you might want to take her to the vet. If not then I'm sure it was just a puppy thing. But I think you should get your puppy rabies shots.

I serously doubt a 4 month old puppy has rabies. was it foaming at the mouth? or acting crazy? no.

Probably not but she can call the doctor to ask. Your mother should wash the area with soap and water immediately.

Puppies nip and bite. It's part of their social play and interaction. You have to train them not to do it.

Tell your momma to just wash the area with soap and water
