How long before a movie's release date is the trailer usually released?

    It depends on the anticipation factor. A movie like The Dark Knight Rises has a trailer a whole year in advance, whereas Contagion, a not so highly anticipated film, has a first trailer only a month and a half in advance. So, it really depends. glad helping :)

    it depends upon the producer of the movie but its is usually released 2-3 months before the release date.
