When Adam and Eve sinned against God did God..............?

Did God punish them by sending them to hell? No. God said that they would die and return to the dust from which they were created. Dust you are and to dust you will return. So why would it be logical to believe that we their offsprings would be punished in hell for sinning? Are our sins greater then theirs?

Please only serious comments.

Update:

For those who said that Adam and Eve felt remorse and returned to God and God forgave them, please show me what scriptures support this. The reason why they died was because they sinned against God. Had they not sinned they would never had died and neither would we.

You are totally right! Boo-ya someone with some sense, finally! Yes its true, Adam and Eve didn't go to hell, and neither do we. Sin is sin, period!

That scripture is speaking about a spiritual death. When we were without sin we were able to communicate with God without an ordained pastor (old test.) or without Jesus (New test.). However this world is nothing more than the devils playground. He is called the Deceiver because that what he does. Adam and Eve were deceived and let in sin for all humanity. Think that people live for 900 years back then and nowadays people only live barely over a hundred now. The wages of sin is death. The spiritual ability to communicate with God was broken which is why I don't believe that the Garden of Eden was an actual place, rather than a spiritual place because the bible says that He sent them away, and told Adam that he would work the land. However, the Bible mentions repeatedly that Hell was not created for man and that we are free to make our own decision. Also when Jesus died, it says that he went and took the keys of hell and freed all who were there. Which means yes, we will be considered to be against God and sent to hell. And yes, people were dying and going to hell for their sins before Jesus came.

  • You will not find any scripture that says Adam(word for man) and eve would never die.

in fact the reason god took them out of Eden was to keep them from eating the fruit from the tree of life, and become immortal.

Hell did not appear in scriptures till the new testament. So if there was a hell would it not be mentioned in the old testament.

the original scriptures refer to God's Place and being ejected from god's place and God's love putting the soul in agony.

It is most likely because they felt great remorse and asked God for forgiveness, and, of course, being a most loving and merciful God, He forgave them.

This being said, the answer to the next part of your question should be easy---if we are not wise enough to repent and ask God for forgiveness for any unforgiven mortal sins before we die, then we can't blame God if we end up Hell afterwards----actually we should always do our best to avoid all sins, particularly the mortal ones---we do not know if we will have time to repent before we actually die.

Firstly, everyone seems to have this idea that god sends people to hell when He isn't happy with them. That's not true. The decisions we human beings make determine what happens to us leaving us to face the consequences of our actions.

Secondly, Of course, Adam and Eve were not sent to hell because they came back to God. God cared for His people no matter what they did. No doubt they sinned again as did their children, but they always came back and their "parent" always forgave them and there's no law against that.

Edit: God still clothed and cared for them after they left the garden. Afterwards, in later chapters, they and their children gave sacrifices of their crops and livestock to God to show their remorse.

And somewhere doesn't it also say that the soul(or spirit) returned

to God? They did return to the dust, but it doesn't say 'that's it'.

Everyone goes to the judgment. Doesn't Eccles. talk about

going to sheol, like the animals. But then we read in the NT about

the two parts of 'hell'...re: Lazarus (the poor man who begged) and

the rich man. So, it's likely very complicated, which I would expect

in such a vast topic as 'God'.

They did not commit the unforgiveable sin. They had almost 1000 years to ask for forgiveness. My bet is they did. AND we were never going to live forever. The plan from the beginning was for them to fail. We decide who we are going to follow. If it’s God then we will live forever in our angelic bodies.

Actually this world is hell compared to the Garden of Eden. In Eden there was no pain or suffering, there was no death, there was no separation from God. Here there is only hunger, pain, toil, death, vile treatment of each other and the separation from God. My dear child this is hell.
