as long as you know how to drive a manual, any car can be a good starter car. yours sound good. as long as you know, with used cars, anything can go wrong. doesn't mean its a bad car, just an older/ used car. 87k shouldn't have major probs, but then again, you may not know whats been done and hasn't been done to the car as far as repairs go.

So long as you can actually drive a manual it sounds like a good car. I just got my first car and it's a '92 Honda Accord. And it had like more than 2 mil miles on it. Hyundai and Honda are foreign car models. The thing about foreign cars though is that they are made MUCH better than American cars, so I'd say your safe.

It's not bad. It has under 100,000 miles on it, which is a big plus. I'm not so into the manual transition thing, but it may work well for you once you get adjusted to that driving. G'luck!

hell yeah. are you in high school or something because i think in high school the only thing that matters about your car is that it runs and its not a station wagon. i got a chevy tracker and it was the happiest day of my life. even if the car doesnt look the best.

Bad choice. It will be falling apart before your very eyes within a few months, especially if it's a stick.
