Hyundai's have a good reputation. Good mileage, too. Don't worry that they are Korean-made--a lot of Japanese companies now have things manufactured in the ROK.

My only problem with them is their 100,000 mile warranty--it only covers engine/drive train, and you Have to get factory parts or it it's Void. (No "Checkers" batteries or a good used one, etc.) My buddy with a Sonata had to pay $100 for a battery. But--that was All the trouble he had with it...

I'd also get the Consumer Reports/Consumer guide on it from the library or online. Check later issues, too, to see if any recalls, etc. The "consumer satisfaction index" is the best indicator. Also, check their used car price guide to make sure you're not getting ripped-off.

As with Any used car, even a Rolls-Royce Cornice you are buying from your Grandma, pay a wrench $100 to check it over. Even the Best maintained car can have a problem that won't show until later.

    Two things come to mind.

    1) The question is too general to answer precisely. You should have your mechanic inspect this vehicle before buying it. It is eleven years old and is likely to require service of some sort. You need to factor the cost of that into the purchase price. I personally like this model

    2) If it is a first car, it would be wise to make sure this one is the four cylinder model. The V6 might be more to insure.

Best of luck and happy motoring!

If you already got it, why ask? I would think that the fact it has a header, instead of factory exhaust, any warranty would be void and it is also evidence that the previous owner was a "boy racer" type.

ITS NOT A BAD CAR, THEY DIDNT HAVE MANEY PROBLEMS WITH THEM. UR TIMING BELT WAS DUE AT 60,000 MILES HAVE THAT CHECKED. I LUV STANDARD CARS , I THINK THEY GIVE U BETTER FUEL MILAGE. IF UR CLUTCH EVER GOES OUT, ITS STILL CHEAPER THAN FIXING UR AUTO TRANS.GOOD LUCK
