Am I still a dependent under my dad's TriCare?
Long story short, Im 19 and I just gave birth last month. Prior before giving birth, I was covered under my dad's tricare insurance and it covered me throughout my whole pregnancy. I got separate insurance for my newborn before she was born incase the military base tried to bill me for her birth/stay. My question is, am I considered independent and uninsured? Or am I still a dependent under my parents? If this helps, I am not going to school nor am I working.

if you live with Dad at least 6 months of the year then yes you are still a dependent as far as the military is concerned. your child is NOT eligible for Tricare therefore the birth and all associated costs are NOT covered
you lose coverage at 21 unless you pay for Tricare Young Adult in August when it goes live

You are a dependent if your still registered in DEERS. You can still be registered if your up to 21 or 23 if a full time student and dad pays 50% of your income.
Now your daughter is not covered under your dads insurance unless you transfer custody to him and he enrolls her into DEERS under his name.
Im not sure on this part but i think everything including up to the birth is covered under tricare.

Tricare Young Adult went LIVE in May 2011.
However, you are automatically covered until your 21st Birthday, regardless of your "legal" dependent status.
