How do you know if your body needs to rest or if you should keep going?

Sometimes I have depression and want to sleep all the time, but I know that's not what I need. But at other times I wonder if maybe my body really does need to rest. Like right now, I'm depressed but I'm also feeling physically worn down, and I just feel like I could sleep all day and I feel weak. How do you know when you need to rest or not?

    Well if you're not sick and have been sedentary then you should know you have nothing to be tired about. If you've been active or sick then you know your body really does need rest.
