Christians and other believers in Christ,Can one follow God and/or Jesus and not his word?

I was just wondering how many think they can follow God and/or Jesus without following the word of God that being the bible.

God tells us what to do and how to act and be in the bible (his word). So how can we follow God and/or Jesus without following the bible?

Thanks for your answers.

    2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right.

17 It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do.

    HEBREWS 4:12

12 For the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are.

EATING YOUR CAKE AND HAVING IT TOO?? Why in the world would you want? That's like saying I'm going to call my self a Republican but I'm going to do everything a Democrat would!

You can't. And if your a sincere and devout christian you wouldn't want to or try to.
