How would you pronounce the name Leia?
At first glance would you pronounce it LAY-uh or LEE-uh?
I really like the name Leah but most people I know with that name pronounce it LEE-uh and I prefer it pronounced LAY-uh. I think Leia is a really pretty spelling and I also think people are more likely to pronounce it LAY-uh at first glance (because of Princess Leia). What do you think?

LAY-uh.
I think it's beautiful :) And you're right. Leah would always be pronounced LEE-uh. Stick with the spelling Leia. It's gorgeous.
I've never seen Star Wars before, so I had no idea about a princess being named this. I still pronounce it Lay-uh even after never seeing Star Wars. :)

Leia... Lay-uh
Leah... Lee-uh
I think Leia is a pretty name, but Leah is common and not as nice. Of course, i agree that when people see Leia they think of Star Wars, and you could be mistaken for die-hard-fans. But i dont think it makes you think of SW when you HEAR it though, remember most people will hear the name, and only a few will read it. Haha, it love the name though.
You could use Leiah, but it's a bit awkward looking, but you'll avoid the Star Wars jibes.
