any other open minded Christians on here ?

I'm roman catholic, but an open minded one ...

I have an interest in other philosophies of spiritual nature. also had an open mind to things like ghosts, UFOs, aliens etc ..... but i notice many Christians in this forum are a little stricter and by the book only in their faith.

Update:

i have faith in Jesus Christ and go to mass, but i believe some Christians are too by the book and think only the bible has the answers. when clearly God reveals new things to us everyday. our priests and bishops and popes throughout the years acknowledge the importance of scripture but also the much oral teachings that were passed on through apostolic succession for example.

and we must keep our minds open to other ideas and philosophies, i t hink some christians are too close minded.

Update 2:

the vatican aslo acknowledges a possible existence of aliens for eg. and often discusses on ghosts etc wheeras more close minded Christians in the Protestant category do not .

that is your mistake Friend:-( you are giving in to humanism and even worse, having contempt for Gods Holy Living Word, discrediting It's POWER , Truths & Promises.Jesus said, "It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone." "It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." "It is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."

Who here believes God says what He means and means what He says???

Matthew 4:4, 7, 10. "Thy word is truth." John 17:17.

Jesus quoted Scripture when meeting the temptations of Satan. He also stated that the Bible is truth (John 17:17). Jesus often quoted Scripture as authority for the truth He was teaching.

The Bible says, "I am the Lord . . . new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them." Isaiah 42:8, 9. "I am God . . . Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done." Isaiah 46:9, 10.

The age in which we live has normalized this false religion of self-worship. We even have a name for it—humanism. Thousands of years ago, God predicted this humanistic movement. It is symbolized in prophecy both as the king of the south (Daniel 11:40) and as the beast from the bottomless pit (Revelation 11:7-10). When the French Revolution fulfilled this prophecy it deified man’s reason and established the foundation for the pseudo religion of secular humanism. The belief that man’s reason is sufficient to answer life’s most profound questions and needs, and that there is no God or moral absolutes, forms humanism’s axis. This belief system has largely controlled the affairs of man from the 1790s to the present day. According to Revelation 11:8, it has two key characteristics—Egypt’s atheistic unbelief in the true God, and Sodom’s immorality.

Secular humanism’s atheism and immorality have gained a strong position in the United States. Humanism also controls most of America’s government programs, institutions of higher learning, the training of grade-school children in public schools, the homosexual movement, etc. Consequently, America is now reaping the same whirlwind of degradation that France did in the wake of its Revolution. For lack of moral fiber, the United States is unraveling at the seams.

The current epidemic of homosexuality, adultery, crime, and other debasing actions should not surprise us. The Bible states this as the inevitable result of exalting man’s reasoning above God’s truth. “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, . . . without natural affection, . . . Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:28-32).

God wants us to flee from humanism. Repeatedly, He has warned us against its deadly influence and shown how it would infiltrate the church. Using the symbol of a little horn in Daniel chapter 7, God predicted the Antichrist would be humanistic. “I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, . . . and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things” (Daniel 7:8). Notice that it is not the eyes of the Spirit that are on this little horn, but “the eyes of man.” Here we see that Antichrist lacks true spiritual discernment and sees life only through human eyes.

His criterion for truth is “What do I think?” instead of “What does God command?” This is anti-Christian. Jesus taught that our will is to be held in subjection to God’s will. He prayed to His Father, “Not as I will, but as Thou wilt” (Matthew 26:39).

Christians seek to look at things from God’s vantage point (2 Corinthians 4:18). They do not base their decisions purely upon earthly considerations, but rather upon the eternal foundation of God’s truth and sovereign will. Christians ask only two questions—“What is God’s truth?” and “What are His promises?” Then they obey the one while claiming the other.

    Happy Sabbath:-)

Most Catholics are very open minded and intelligent. You are talking about being interested in the occult and weird and odd things as being some sort of proof of being a higher level of open mindedness. That simply is not true. Many highly intelligent Catholics simply have no time for nonsense.

Of course UFOs exist. It merely means, by definition, a flying object that you cannot identify. Believing in the existence of little green men is hard until we find some. Catholics have no problem believing that God could have created other worlds or other groups of beings we have not met. Does not change or alter our beautiful faith one bit.

I don't label myself as a Christian although i believe in much the same way they do. But i am very open minded but also heavily opinionated on certain topics... but even on those topics i am open to ideas as i do not pretend to know everything!

I am a ardent follower of Gods word which is contained in the bible and i use His word to guide my thinking on all other parts of my life. So from that i view every other topic.

I do find portions of truth in other philosophy's, physical observations, science, etc. And i like to take my knowledge of the Bible and speculate on the things not spelled out literally in it. Like other non physical life forms and mystical interpretations or philosophies like the Kabbalah and other spiritual speculations. I understand the danger in doing this though and don't encourage others to do this as it can be confusing to those who do not have a foundation of understand in the Bible and a strong belief in Yahweh/God.

You can look and get informed. But if your open mind, is only that you want to go shopping and

are lukewarm, Jesus Christ, said," If you are lukewarm, I will spew you out of MY mouth,

I would that you'd be HOT or COLD."

There are out there and here in R&S, antichrists, who will make a dope out of you in a minute

and show but a phony, stroke you to seduce you with their agenda.

Sometimes, they disguised themselves, and ask question of "Christians", to create confusion.

And those on the sidelines, make us out to be the bad guys; when we won't play along, with their

antichrist tactics. They are not, I repeat, Atheist. Atheist know what they don[t believe, and leave

well enough alone, but not sATAN'S MINIONS.

They think, there is no hell. But what they are suggesting is hell a seducing hell, like quicksand

they soon are gone, never to return...

Source(s): "Why, call ME Lord, Lord and not do what I ask you. If you Love Me KEEP My Words." If you believe not, THAT I AM HE, The Messiah, you shall die in your sins." Jesus Christ...

I'm a very open minded Roman Catholic. A lot of Christians are open minded. I guess you could go into ghosts, aliens and that stuff. The Catholic church acknowledges the possibility of aliens and that kind of stuff. They also acknowledge Evolution and the BBT.

Go ahead be open minded. Just don't stray from your true faith.

I try to remain open minded until someone reaches the point of utter stupidity, although-I'm a strict KJV Bible believer and will NOT contradict that for anyone. But, I also believe everyone is entitled to their opinion and beliefs. I just happen to choose what I believe to be a true religion.

I'm an open minded Catholic. I enjoy the extra terrestrial stuff they show on the history channel, especially in relation to the old testament. Who really knows? Regarding R&S, we've got all kinds here. After awhile, you know who is who and their philosophies.

This is where Christianity gets it's strength. It's able to point to it's 2 billion strong cult and say, 'See, we are united. Here's 2 billion reasons why we are right.' But they never realize that most of those 2 billion Christians aren't by the book and generally, widely disagree on even the most fundamental issues. I know a christian that doesn't even believe Jesus existed, but he was raised Catholic, and refuses to drop the label.

Roman Catholics are not Christians. The bible says Eve is the mother of all living. As far as being open minded:

    1 Corinthians 2:2

    King James Version (KJV)

2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

I'm open minded to what God says, not to what Satan says. The problem of being too open minded is your brains tend to leak out of your head.
