The teachings of Jesus provide a basis of love, tolerance, and turning the other cheek.

The Qu'ran seems to try to follow those teachings, but fails. For example, it has some violent comments against People of the Book, and different ideas of marriage. Jesus/the Bible say marriage is between a man and a woman, so no more than two people.

In my opinion, Islam does not follow the teachings of Jesus. However, that's not to say that some Muslims do not follow Jesus' teachings quite well.

    i agree and disagree alike

first, all truth is all truth no matter what the source, with Islam eventually many things are truth that agrees with the teachings of jesus.

however in LDS doctrine, history, Jesus said with his own lips are religions are "wrong" because "they teach the doctrines of man"

then you have inspiration which is false if whispered in anyones' ear by satan or fallen angels, or are just pure mind control tricks by those humans who know how to do it

The truth is that the Quran's version of Jesus has variations from the Bible's version,

For Christians's jesus is God, whereas for muslims, he is one of the Prophets.

But Muslims do follow the TEACHINGS of Jesus and have huge respect for him.

    Yes, they do.

Jesus, or Isa as they call him, is considered a great prophet. They do not consider him Divine, i.e., not as the Son of God (nor God Himself), but, as a great prophet and religious teacher, absolutely. There is a fair bit regarding him, and Mary, and all in the Koran.

    yes

Say (O Muslims), "We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the offspring of the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Musa (Moses) and 'Îsa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam)."
