Does anyone else get annoyed when they see "actress and model" written as a single phrase.?
If you're serious about acting, modelling is a whole different world. If an actress was introduced as "actress -and-model" in a play I was in I'd be very sceptical until she proved she had real acting chops.

Yes I do.
Most "actresses" who are models are only actresses because they look good and get roles that way, not because they have any discernible acting talent.
Yes, before anyone starts commenting, I know I'm generalizing, but the fact is that most REAL actors think that modeling is an extremely vapid industry and don't want anything to do with it.

Sometimes. What I came to know, however, is there are two different worlds when you think about Modeling and Acting. There's the one for people who've done little-to-no research, where everything is a dream. And then there's the version where you actually realize they're cut-throat businesses, that actually INVOLVE business. Seen from one point of view, being either could fulfill your wildest fantasies. Seen from the other, well, most people can't handle it. I came to realize that most people would rather familiarize themselves with the dream-fulfilling version, where the two are very alike. Now, anyone that knows the truth will disagree, but I find that the phrase 'ignorance is bliss' comes to fruition around matters like these.

No, this doesn't annoy me. This is just the way publicists punch up people's credentials.
