Why does my dog run around like a lunatic after a bath?
My dog is a Wolf/German Shepherd mix, and she doesn't like water at all. In fact, she's terrified of it! She only gets a bath once or twice a year just to keep her skin healthy.
She got her first bath of the year today, and she ran around like her head was cut off after ward. Why does she do that?
Due to fear of soap getting in her ears/eyes, we generally don't wash her face/head.

sure, my dogs does a similar element, and that i think of maximum canines do. as quickly as I launch her from the towel-drying, she runs around the backyard along with her butt tucked down (this is her posture for all loopy-dogs-lap-working) and on occasion does somewhat spin. My husband and that i paintings out of our residing house, so she would be in a position to additionally circulate finding for somebody else to proportion her moist fur with. After her final tub, she bumped into the place of work and that i heard a woman's sqealing, so I knew she had got here across Sofie, our Accounting individual, and grew to become into eagerly leaping throughout Sofie's incredibly outfit.

Both of my dogs do that. I think it is soooooooooooooooo funny !!!!!! My Yorkie isn't to excited about water and my Lab loves it! They still both love do that. The reason they do that is because they get so much energy. When the water goes on them it just makes them feel refreshed. There is a lot of reasons they could do that Only they know, but that's what I think! Hope I helped!

My last dog hated being bathed and even indoors could hear the tap (faucet) being turned on outside and then she'd make herself scarce. She too did mad zoomies afterwards. They feel great, that's why they do it. All mammals do when coming out of water... it's probably how baptism caught on.

She probably runs around like that because she is trying to get dry...even if you did towel dry her she still most likely has water on her. I also agree with Kamryn it makes them feel refreshed and just good kinda like most people feel after a nice cool/warm shower... Hope this helps!!

A dog's odor is its identity.
After your "self" is washed away from you, it takes a bit of running to get it back. But don't worry, all is well now.

It could be because she has soap in her eyes or you may have irritated her ears and that could be why she is bothered. my dog always seems to get soap in his eyes so he rubs them on any surface that he can find
