When should I get highlights for my wedding?
My wedding is August 27th and I am scheduled to get highlights on August 9th. ( I have never gotten highlights) My hair does not grow very fast...Will this be an ok time so that they do not grow out?
Nox - Thanks. You answered my question. It is not about my man loving me more or less. It is about wanting to look my best on the biggest day of my life. If you do not understand that then I don't know what else to say.
I forgot to mention that it is either the 9th or the 25th since my stylist will be on vacation in between.
Why can't some people just answer my question without giving there opinions on something apart from what I am asking.
Powairy - you do not know me or my fiance so you have absolutely NO IDEA what he would "appreciate" I have spoke with him about this and he actually thinks it is a great idea as well. I am getting highlights! I have dyed my hair for the last ten years! Jeez! I am not getting a nose job!

I would definitely go with the 9th since you say you never got them before. This gives you time to change it if you don't like it.
If you get them on the 9th and like the way they look...they will surely still look nice until the 27th.
Congrats! We are marrying about a month after you. ..and can't wait.!

I guess it depends on your hair, I am a natural dirty blonde and get super blonde highlights every 6 months or so. My wedding is on the 15th (Monday), and I am going for highlights on the 13th (Saturday). I know on my hair, if I waited 2.5 weeks like you are planning, the highlights would fade, blend and I would already have roots showing. I want them to be fresh, so I am doing them two days before.
If you have never had highlights before, they will probably be very noticeable, which means any roots will be glaringly obvious. You would be surprised how much you can see a 1/4 inch of root showing if there is a dramatic difference in colour. If you can, I would move the appointment back by a week, to put you about 10 days before the wedding.
ETA: If it were up to me, then I would say go for the 25th. They will be more noticeable, unless you prefer a more subtle look, when the highlights fade a bit and your hair just takes on an overall lighter colour.

You don't need fake, dyed hair to "look your best".
If you've never highlighted your hair before, now is NOT the time to do it.
You want to look like yourself at your wedding. If I dyed my hair before our wedding (something I've never done), my fiance would be like "what????" Trust me, he'll appreciate it if you look like yourself and not some stranger. Changing your hair colour is just silly. Just because other women do it doesn't mean you have to.
Anyway, if you MUST do it then do it on the 9. That way you have a couple weeks to change it when you realize how silly it looks.

The way you scheduled it is perfect. Because not only does it give you time to change it if you don't like the results. But as you probably know when you first get color put on it can be very vivid and this gives it some time to dial itself down before the wedding.

They won't grow out by then and that far in advanced is good in case you don't like it or something goes wrong.
I'm wondering why you would want to change your appearance for your wedding. Your man already loves you for who and what you are.
